It’s hard to get much better than a Colorado touring road bike! The scenery is as varied as it is incredibly beautiful. You’ll be pedaling through the high country with sweeping views and down into desert canyons, past mountains and stunning peaks. You’ll even pedal through the continental divide (with a heck of a downhill!)!

Tour highlights

Day 1: Kick into gear in Keystone and explore the Summit County Rail Trail System. Ride around Dillon Lake, pass through the mountain town of Frisco, and hop on the Blue River Bike Trail to Breckenridge.

Day 2: Cycle down to Frisco and up to Copper Ski Resort for lunch. Transfer by van over Vail Pass to Eagle, Colorado, and drive through the breathtaking Glenwood Canyon to the world’s largest hot spring pool at Glenwood Hot Springs & Lodge.

Day 3: Mount Sopris will loom before you as you hike the famous and magnificent Rio Grande Trail lunch in Carbondale. The Rio Grande Trail is a mostly paved railroad trail that follows the Roaring Fork River. Hike the Crystal River Trail to the “Ruby of the Rockies,” Redstone.

Day 4: Descend to Carbondale, then hike the Rio Grande Rail Trail for lunch along the Roaring Fork River. Take a shuttle to Maroon Bells Glacier Lake, which, with its three 14,000-foot peaks, is the most photographed place in Colorado. Descend to your accommodation in Aspen.

Day 5: Transfer by minibus over Independence Pass and explore the historic Leadville neighborhood, looping around and enjoying lunch on your own. Hike the 11-mile loop of the Mineral Belt National Recreational Trail at 10,000 feet, cross the Continental Divide over Tennessee Pass, and descend to your overnight lodging in Red Cliff, CO.

Day 6: Enjoy your final day of 29 miles of downhill! Descend the 10-mile canyon trail from Vail Pass to Silverthorne, where you’ll have your last group lunch at the Silverthorne Recreation Center.
